YCS comes to Kafukule



On 18th January 2020, Mzuzu University Young Christian Students (YCS) together with students from Kafukule and Mpherembe gathered together at Kafukule CDSS where they shared different ideas, activities and views about YCS. The day was indeed unforgettable to all the students since the activities which were performed had never happened in previous gatherings. The gathering was hosted by Mzuni students with an aim of motivating the students spiritually and academically.

Although we experienced some showers, but the day was not such harsh that it could disturb the gathering. After the Mzuni students were welcomed at Kafukule CDSS, Father Petros Mwale lead the Eucharist cerebration. There afterward, a talk on suicide by the Officer In-charge of Kafukule police. The police officers told the students on why people commit suicide, its effects and ways of refraining from such act. YCS background and structure program followed after suicide talk which was directed by Mzuni students.

Every student ambition in education is for the betterment of his or her life and future. On this day, Mzuni students had a career talk which enlightened the students on how to perform in different subject in order to be enrolled in the higher levels of education (University) to pursue in various programs like education, optometry, tourism and theology just to mention a few.

The talent individuals had their chance to showcase their talents. For instance, there was dancing competition, eating competition, sweet pulling, obstacle race and many more. These activities enhanced students interaction.
