![]() The Parish of St. Mary was opened in January 2018 with Fr. Mark Mkandawire as the first resident priest in the Parish, up till this day, Kasitu was a zone of St Joseph Parish – Nkhatabay. The Parish Inauguration Ceremony took place on the 8th of September with the Eucharistic Celebration presided over by the Rt. Rev. John A. Ryan, Bishop of the Diocese of Mzuzu. The Parish of St Mary covers parts of South Nkhatabay and North Nkhotakota but the Parish is largely ![]() in Nkhotakota District. Due to the languages used by most of the faithful who settled with the Parish years before the Parish was opened, we have adopted Chichewa, Tumbuka and Tonga as liturgical languages. The Parish has her faithful engaged in farming – rice, cassava, maize, ground nuts, sugar cane, tobacco including chamba. Some are into fishing and small scale businesses. A minority are civil servants and employees in the private sector. |
