Saint of the Day

St. Francis of Assisi

St. Francis of Assisi (1181/1182–1226) was an Italian religious founder who renounced wealth and embraced a life of poverty, simplicity, prayer, and service. He founded the Order of Friars Minor, commonly known as the Franciscans. Francis had a profound love for Christ, the poor, creation, and all people. He is particularly remembered for his commitment to peace and his reverence for creation.

Daily Reflection

St. Francis reminds us that true greatness is found not in possessions or status but in love, humility, and service. Today's Gospel calls us to receive God's Kingdom with the openness and simplicity of a child. We are also reminded of the importance of relationships, fidelity, and loving responsibility. Ask yourself today: How can I become an instrument of God's peace in the lives of those around me? Prayer: Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Teach me to serve without seeking recognition, to love without conditions, and to care for Your creation with gratitude. Amen.
