Pontifical Mission Societies

Supporting the Church's universal missionary mission

The Pontifical Mission Societies promote missionary awareness and support the Church's universal mission through prayer, sacrifice, and charitable contributions. They include the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, the Society of St. Peter the Apostle, and the Missionary Union of Priests and Religious.

Holy Childhood Association: A worldwide Catholic missionary movement that helps children grow in faith through prayer, missionary awareness, charity, and solidarity with children across the world.

Vocations & Formation

Responding to God's Call

The Vocations Office promotes and supports vocations to the priesthood, religious life, and other forms of Christian service by accompanying those discerning God's call. The office coordinates vocation promotion across the Diocese and works closely with parishes, schools, families, and religious congregations to foster a culture of discernment.

Social Communication and Research Commission

Communicating the Gospel through media and research

The Social Communication and Research Commission coordinates the Diocese's communication and research initiatives in support of evangelization, pastoral ministry, and institutional development. Guided by the pastoral direction of the Diocese and the Malawi Conference of Catholic Bishops (MCCB), the Commission promotes effective communication, documentation, media engagement, and research to strengthen the Church's mission.

Radio Tigabane

Life in Its Fullness

Radio Tigabane is the official community radio station of the Catholic Diocese of Mzuzu, established in December 2005 under the ownership of the Bishop of Mzuzu Diocese and licensed by the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA). The station broadcasts primarily in Tumbuka, with selected programmes in English and Chichewa, reaching communities across Northern Malawi and parts of the Central Region.

Mission

To promote holistic evangelization by addressing the spiritual, social, educational, and developmental needs of the communities through faith-based, informative, and community-centred broadcasting.

Vision

To be a trusted Catholic community radio station that proclaims the Gospel, promotes human dignity, and contributes to informed, peaceful, and sustainable communities.
