The Catholic Diocese of Mzuzu has ordained three new priests during a Eucharistic celebration held at Holy Cross Parish on Saturday, July 11, 2026.

The ordination Mass was presided over by the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Mzuzu, Rt. Rev. Yohane Suzgo Nyirenda, who encouraged the newly ordained priests to embrace their vocation with courage and dedication as they begin their ministry in the Church.
“You have received this calling, do not be afraid. Go and work with everyone in your different parishes for the service of God’s people,” said Bishop Nyirenda.

Speaking on behalf of the parents, Peter Manda thanked the bishop for conferring the Sacrament of Holy Orders and urged parents to support children called to religious life.
Bishop Nyirenda has assigned Father Isaiah Manda to St. Monica Parish in Embangweni, Father Adrian Nyirenda to St. Denis Parish in Rumphi, and Father Andrew Chunga to Holy Family Parish in Nkhamenya.

Meanwhile, the Bishop has appointed Father Amos Katumbi as Parish Priest of Kanyika Pro Parish, a newly established parish carved out of Holy Cross Parish in Nkhamenya.
